What We Shipped in July: Trusso, Free Estimating Tools, and Scanstead

July was the busiest month we've ever had. We changed our name — Contractor Office is now Trusso, with a new home at trussoapp.com (old links redirect, and your login, data, and subscription carry over untouched) — and then we shipped. Six free AI estimate generators anyone can use, a brand-new App Store app that turns your iPhone into a room-measuring crew, and this blog. Here's the full rundown.

Six Free AI Estimate Generators

We took the estimating engine inside Trusso and opened part of it up for free. There are now six AI estimate generators live on our tools page, one for each of the trades we hear from most:

• Fence estimates — wood, vinyl, and chain link

Each one works the same way: describe the job in a few fields, and the AI drafts a professional line-item estimate with labor hours and materials you can adjust and send. No account required, no credit card. Scanstead: Measure a Whole House With Your iPhone

The release we're most excited about landed on the App Store in late July. Scanstead uses the LiDAR sensor already built into recent iPhones to scan a room as you walk it — walls, doors, and windows captured automatically, no tape measure, no sketching on graph paper.

A scan gets you every measurement instantly, a clean dimensioned 2D floor plan, and a 3D model you can share with a customer or a sub. Scan room by room and merge them into a whole-house model. And because it's built by the same team, Scanstead talks to Trusso: send a scan over and the AI prices the job from the real dimensions, so the estimate is grounded in what the space actually measures rather than what anyone eyeballed.
