How to switch from FieldPulse to Trusso
FieldPulse makes customer export straightforward — an admin can email themselves the full list as a CSV in a couple of clicks. The parts to plan around are its cancellation notice period and rebuilding your price book on the other side.
This guide covers exporting from FieldPulse, importing into Trusso, what moves automatically, what needs a manual pass, and the cancellation timing that saves you a billing cycle.
Why crews leave FieldPulse
FieldPulse packs a wide feature set at per-user pricing that undercuts the big names — but per-user is still per-user: adding techs raises the bill, and lower tiers limit integrations, so growth costs you twice.
Trusso is flat-priced ($29–$99/month, whole team included) and adds what FieldPulse doesn't have: automatic lead import from Angi, Thumbtack, Yelp and Google, fast AI answers to those leads, and AI-drafted estimates.
Step 1 — Export your data from FieldPulse
You'll need an Admin role in FieldPulse to export customers. Exports arrive by email at the address registered to your account:
- 1
Click Customers in the left side menu, then Export at the top right. The CSV arrives by email — save the attachment.
- 2
Export your estimates and invoices from their sections the same way, for your records.
- 3
Save photos and attachments you need from individual jobs — they aren't included in CSV exports.
- 4
Plan your cancellation: FieldPulse requires an email to cancellations@fieldpulse.com at least 5 days before a monthly renewal (30 days for annual subscriptions), and you keep access through the period you've paid for.
Step 2 — Import your customers into Trusso
Trusso's CSV importer maps your FieldPulse columns in one screen — match each column to a customer field with the dropdowns:
- 1
Start a free 14-day Trusso trial — no card required — and open the web dashboard.
- 2
Go to Customers → Import CSV and choose the FieldPulse export. The first row should contain column names.
- 3
Map the columns: names, email, mobile vs landline numbers, address, tags, notes and lead source each match with a dropdown; set anything you don't want to "Don't import".
- 4
Preview the import. Trusso shows every row, flags possible duplicates by email or phone, and skips rows with no name.
- 5
Hit Import. Large lists run in batches of 200, and any rows that fail are listed with the reason.
Imported customers are never opted into SMS automatically — text-message consent stays off until you confirm it per customer, so you stay compliant from day one.
What moves over automatically
Customer names. First and last names, plus business/organization names — rows with a business name are tagged as business customers automatically.
Contact details. Email addresses and phone numbers, with mobile and landline recognized separately.
Addresses. Street, city, state and ZIP map to the customer's service address.
Tags and notes. Customer tags and free-form notes come across intact.
Lead source. Where each customer came from, if your export includes it.
What to handle manually
Open estimates and scheduled jobs. Re-create work in flight in Trusso — AI estimates make this minutes per job.
Estimate and invoice history. Keep the exported CSVs as your archive for taxes and reference.
Photos and attachments. Download what you need from FieldPulse while your access is still active.
Price book and flat-rate items. Rebuild your rates in Trusso's price book — migrate only the items you actually quote.
Timesheets and team records. Close out payroll in FieldPulse, then start fresh with Trusso's clock-in.
Go-live checklist
- Spot-check the imported list: customer count, a few names, phones and addresses against FieldPulse.
- Set up your price book and service rates.
- Re-create open estimates and upcoming jobs.
- Connect payments (Stripe or Square — Venmo and Zelle also supported) and send yourself a test invoice.
- Set up lead capture: connect the Angi, Thumbtack, Yelp or Google sources you buy leads from so new leads import and get answered automatically.
- Invite your crew from Settings — every Trusso plan covers your whole team with no per-user fees.
- Keep your old exports in a safe folder as your historical archive, then cancel the old subscription once everything checks out.
- Send your cancellation email inside FieldPulse's notice window (5 days before monthly renewal, 30 days for annual).
What switching saves: Trusso vs FieldPulse
FieldPulse sells per-user tiers and doesn't publish a simple price list — check fieldpulse.com for current rates. The structural difference is the model: every tech you add raises the bill, and lower tiers limit integrations.
Trusso is $29–$99/month flat: owner + 2 crew on Starter, owner + 10 on Pro ($59), no cap on Unlimited ($99) — with AI lead capture and estimates included on every plan.
| Trusso | FieldPulse | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Flat — whole team included | Per-user tiers; check current rates |
| Owner + 4 crew | $59/mo (Pro, covers up to 11) | Scales with each added user |
| AI lead capture & estimates | Included on every plan | Not offered |
| Contract & cancellation | None — cancel anytime | Email notice: 5 days (monthly) / 30 days (annual) |
| Free trial | 14 days, no card required | Demo-led sales process |

Who can export data from FieldPulse?
Only users with an Admin role can export customers. The export is emailed to the address registered with your FieldPulse account.
How do I avoid paying for an extra FieldPulse cycle?
