How to switch from Jobber to Trusso

Step 1 — Export your data from Jobber

Jobber emails client exports as CSV files. Pull everything you might want later — exports stop being available the day your account closes:

Go to the Clients tab, select More Actions → Export Clients, and choose CSV as the format. The file arrives by email; lists over 1,499 clients arrive as multiple files.

Run the reports you want as an archive — one-off jobs, quotes and invoices — and export each from the Reports section.

Download any attachments and photos you need from individual jobs; they aren't included in CSV exports.

Note your renewal date. Jobber's discounted pricing runs on a 1-year commitment, so time your cancellation to it if you can.

Step 2 — Import your clients into Trusso

Trusso's CSV import recognizes Jobber's column names out of the box — including tags, custom notes and property addresses:

Go to Customers → Import CSV and choose the Jobber export file. The first row should contain column names, which Jobber exports include by default.

Check the column mapping. Jobber column names are recognized automatically — names, email, mobile vs landline numbers, address, tags, notes and lead source. Adjust anything with the dropdowns, or set a column to "Don't import".

Preview the import. Trusso shows every row, flags possible duplicates by matching email or phone, and skips rows with no name. Duplicates are skipped by default.

Hit Import and watch the progress bar. Large lists are fine — imports run in batches of 200, and any rows that fail are listed with the reason.

If Jobber split your list into multiple files, import them one after another — the duplicate check spans everything already imported, so overlaps are caught automatically.

Imported customers are never opted into SMS automatically — text-message consent stays off until you confirm it per customer, so you stay compliant from day one.

What moves over automatically

Customer names. First and last names, plus business/organization names — rows with a business name are tagged as business customers automatically.
Contact details. Email addresses and phone numbers, with mobile and landline recognized separately.
Addresses. Street, city, state and ZIP map to the customer's service address.
Tags and notes. Customer tags and free-form notes come across intact.
Lead source. Where each customer came from, if your export includes it.

What to handle manually

Open quotes and scheduled jobs. Re-create in-flight work in Trusso — AI estimates make this minutes per job. Pro and Unlimited plans include hands-on migration support from Jobber if you'd rather have help.
Job, quote and invoice history. History stays in your exported CSVs as your archive for taxes and reference. Day-to-day work doesn't need it live.
Photos and attachments. Download what you need from Jobber before the account closes — CSVs don't include files.
